FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
As founder and principal designer of Nine Dot Design, Kaitlin Thomas brings nearly two decades of experience and a thoughtful, collaborative approach to creating homes that feel both beautiful and deeply personal.
After earning her BA in Interior Design, Kaitlin spent over a decade at boutique design firms along the West Coast, working on projects ranging from boutique hotels and restaurants to creative workplaces and custom residences. This diverse background informs her holistic approach to residential design, blending creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of how design can enhance everyday life.
In 2017, Kaitlin founded Nine Dot Design to help clients create homes that are tailored to the way they live. Whether guiding a renovation, new construction project, or full-home furnishing, she partners closely with clients to create spaces that are refined, functional, and full of character.
Outside the studio, you'll likely find Kaitlin cooking, playing soccer, practicing yoga, or spending time outdoors with her husband and chocolate lab, Riley Ru.

Every project begins with listening. We learn what you’re drawn to, what you need from your home, and how you want it to feel. Those insights guide how we respond to the architecture and setting, whether we’re reimagining an existing home or collaborating on a new residence.
From custom details and furnishings to materials and lighting, we consider every element as part of a cohesive whole. We draw from the surrounding landscape, incorporating natural materials, organic textures, and colors found in nature. An emphasis on daylight, views, and connections between indoors and out brings warmth and depth to the interiors and a sense of connection to their surroundings.
